"And there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit . . . to another prophecy~ to another dis cerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: But all these worketh that one and the selfsame spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will." I Corinthians 12:4-11

This is one of the most overlooked portions of scripture. The Holy Spirit gives His gifts "as he will" not as we humans want. To say that the Holy Spirit will always work in a certain way in the giving of gifts is gross error. I, personally, cannot find scriptural justification for the doc trine that the Holy Spirit always gives every Christian the gift of tongues. Unfortunately, most Christians who accept this teaching tend to be very lax about testing the spirits speaking in tongues.

"If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret. But if there be no interpreter, let him lu!ep silence in the churc~ and let him speak to himself, and to God." I Corinthians 14:27,28

Disobedience to this scripture has opened up churches to a massive inflow of demonic forces. Satanists speak easily in tongues directly from demons. They place curses upon the church, the pastor and the people without anyone knowing that that is what they are doing because there is no interpre tation and no testing of the spirits. Pastors refuse to control or rebuke demonic tongues because they do not want to risk angering their congregation, thereby losing their support. I have seen demons of false tongues actually inter rupt an entire church service with all sorts of theatrics and tears.
