ceived an unholy spirit. Troubles started almost immediately. She had continual stomach and intestinal problems which the doctors could neither diagnose nor cure. She began having difficulty hearing the Lord speak to her and in reading her Bible. By the time I met her, 16 years after her conversion, she was completely unable to maintain a clear mind long enough to read the Bible for more than a minute or two at a time. The only way she could pray was in tongues. She was very ill, discouraged and depressed. I realized that Lea most likely had a demon of false tongues. I asked her if she could speak in tongues any time she wanted. She said "yes." So I asked her to start speaking in tongues and keep speaking in tongues regardless of what I said. As Lea started speaking in tongues I said the following: "You spirit speaking through Lea in tongues, in the name of Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior, I command you to tell me, what do you have to say about Jesus and which Jesus do you serve?" Lea was horrified when cursing started coming out of her mouth. She clapped her hand over her mouth to stop the flow of words. The spirit speaking in tongues had flunked the test. He was quite obviously a demon! Lea had allowed a man whom she did not know to lay hands on her, and then she had accepted what had happened to her without testing the spirit she had received. She suffered for sixteen years because she had not known the necessity of testing the spirits. You may ask, "How could a demon of false tongues have gotten into Lea since she was a Christian? Wasn't she protected?" The answer is, "no," because she disobeyed God's com mands given in the Bible. She subjected herself to a person whom she did not know, accepting whatever he chose to give to her. Secondly, she again violated God's word by not testing the spirit she received to be sure it was the Holy Spirit.
