"For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect." Matthew 24:24

The laying on of hands is commonly practiced in occultic rituals in order to effect a transference of demons. Let me give you an example of this occurring in a Christian church. Lea (not her real name) is a woman in her late 30's. Sixteen years ago she was a prostitute and heroin addict in Los Angeles. One night someone stopped her on the street, handed her a tract and presented the gospel to her. She was so convicted that she went back to her room and fell onto her knees and wept. She repented of her sins and asked Jesus to forgive and cleanse her. Lea said that she spent the next hour coughing up the most horrible stuff she had ever seen..She knew she was demon possessed and realized that the Lord was driving all of the demons out of her. She stopped heroin "cold-turkey" and never had a withdrawal symptom. The next morning Lea went out and bought a Bible. She spent the next three months reading God's word. She ob tained and kept a steady job for the first time in her life. Within four months after making Jesus her Lord and Savior, she was back out on the streets again. Only this time she was leading the pimps and prostitutes to the Lord. Her entire life had changed! Her joy was reading God's word, praying and doing His work. The Lord spoke to her through the Holy Spirit and guided her from day to day. Now if ever I saw anyone in which I would say the power of the Holy Spirit was manifested, Lea is it. About ten months after her conversion, as Lea was looking around for a church, she ran into a woman who claimed to be a Christian. This lady asked her if she had received the "baptism of the Holy Spirit." Lea did not know what this was, but, wanting everything the Lord wanted to give her, she listened to the woman.
