The more she pressed in and the more she surrendered to the longing for wholeness in her heart, the deeper she dug into the well of the Spirit. At one point she just came right out and demanded, "Sir, give me this water, that I may not thirst, nor come here to draw" (v. 15). This woman put a demand on the Spirit that will never be refused. The Bible says in Revelation 21:6 that God will freely give the water of the fountain of life to anyone who thirsts. (See also Revelation 22:17.) Are you thirsty for healing? Will you dig deep into the well of the Spirit for your healing? Just like this woman, you can put a demand upon the healing anointing and draw from it. There is a never ending supply of the Spirit available to every believer. For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ. —Philippians 1:19, KJV When I look at ministry gifts of the Spirit, I see a living reservoir—or well. In that well is a supply of the anointing. The Lord has deposited His anointing in individuals for the perfecting of the saints. It is our responsibility to draw from that supply. Just like
