Chapter 5 Drawing From The Well

Jesus therefore, being wearied from His journey, sat thus by the well. It was about the sixth hour. A woman of Samaria came to draw water. John 4:6-7 THE HEALING ANOINTING that accompanies the ministry gifts is like a well. The Samaritan woman who came to the well that day may not have appeared to have any physical issues, but Jesus knew she needed healing. Her need to draw from the spiritual well that Jesus had within Him was being played out in the natural by her physical need to draw water from Jacob's well. Jesus was fully operational in the Spirit because the Word of God dwelled in Him—He was the Word (John 1:1-2). Therefore, His level of discernment was able to pierce through the natural and see this woman's spiritual need. (See Hebrews 4:12.) But it didn't stop there. It wasn't just His recognition of her need that got her need met, but it was also about how she began to pull on the well of anointing that Jesus had within Him. She began to inquire, "How is it that You, being a Jew, ask a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?... Sir, You have nothing to draw with, and the well is deep. Where then do You get that living
