Opening the Gates of Heaven Perry Stone
heaven open:
1. Search yourself before you pray. Pray a purity prayer as you begin, asking God to forgive you of any offenses and to enable you to keep the channel of blessing open in your life. 2. Search the Scriptures. Find a promise in God’s Word that speaks to the specific need you are presenting to God. Lock into that promise with your faith, reminding God not only of His promise but also of the covenant He has established with you. 3. Search the will of God. It does little good to pray for something that is outside of the will of God. Remember God’s Word that says: “Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts” (James 4:3, KJV ). 4. Search your own spirit. Pray in the Spirit when you do not know what to pray for in your own heart. What are God’s issues related to your request? How does He feel about this situation? 5. Be spontaneous. You don’t have to pray in King James English! Let your prayer arise out of your spirit and heart—not from a piece of paper
