temple and also participating each year in the Feast of Tabernacles in Jerusalem (Ezek. 46:1; Zech. 14:16–19). The Sabbaths, new moons, and Feast of Tabernacles all originated in the Torah in the time of Moses, yet they continue in the time of the Messiah’s rule. For Gentile believers to ignore or completely reject this season may cause them to miss an important yearly cycle and set time in which they could experience a unique blessing or breakthrough. I am certainly aware and always teach that God hears and answers prayer continually. Also, a person must not wait until the conclusion of a year or of a one-time season such as the Day of Atonement to repent. Repentance and humility must be expressed the moment a person realizes he or she has transgressed (1 John 2:1). The month of Elul usually begins in the month of August and at times may be at the beginning, sometimes in the middle, or toward the end of the month. After Bob Rogers explained how August was the month of answered prayer, and I spent time studying the Jewish feasts and traditions, months later I shared with him how the season of Teshuvah begin usually in the month of August, often the month prior to the beginning of the Jewish New Year. For several years now, I have kept a calendar that informs me when the forty days begin and conclude. During this time I choose to reflect on the past eleven months, to ensure that my heart and spirit are clear toward all men, and that my own heart is in right standing with
