Opening the Gates of Heaven Perry Stone
To them it was revealed that, not to themselves, but to us they were ministering the things which now have been reported to you through those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven—things which angels desire to look into. —1 P ETER 1:12
The phrase “look into” means, to “lean over or bend as to peer within.” 1 Angels are attracted to the preaching of God’s Word. To me, the passage has the implication of angels peering into the worship services where the gospel is preached around the world, just waiting for an opportunity to minister. The writer of Hebrews speaks of this ministry when he wrote: “Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?” (Heb. 1:14). Angels are assigned to worship Christ (vv. 5–6) and are called “ministers” and “a flame of fire” (v. 7). In Daniel, the angel of the Lord informed the prophet that God had released him to bring a message to Daniel “because of your words [prayers]” (Dan. 10:12). When you have entered a redemptive covenant with God through Christ, you become a candidate to be assigned angelic assistance. In Scripture, the spoken Word of God and the words you speak in prayer can release the angel of blessing in your life.
