Another name for Osiris is Saturn. Masonic writer, J. S. M. Ward explains that Saturn is really Satan. A Dictionary of Symbols mentions that Saturn “is related to the Ouroboros (or the serpent which bites it own tail).”

Saturn’s symbol is a scythe. The scythe is really symbolic of renewed hopes for rebirth or reincarnation. This is quite fitting since the symbolism of the broken column represents Isis and Osiris. Osiris had a “rebirth” due to SPELLS performed by Isis.
