moons, rings of emeralds and pearls, even ritual garters set with tiny silver buckles are often part of Wiccan regalia.” A Christian author comments: “Personal jewelry is also very important to those in witchcraft, since they receive it during ritual ceremonies, having had it ‘blessed’ (cursed) with clinging demons. Since such things are worn close to the body, the witch or warlock always has his or her familiar spirits ‘on call.’ The symbols on the jewelry are very important; they are never accidental or harmless. The crescent or crescent and star are two of the most common symbols representing the Queen of Heaven and the ‘bright morning star’—Lucifer.” As should be evident by now, it’s not just the design or symbol on the jewelry, but the jewelry itself that has a magical meaning. Many people wear a ring or a necklace with their birthstone. However, these different gemstones are used for magical purposes and are based on ASTROLOGY.
Tanya Turner, a Christian, informs us: “Birthstones were created during the Classical Period by the Romans, with each holding an astrological significance. In astrology, there are 12 signs of the zodiac each showing specific signs of weaknesses and/or strengths. A specific gem, possessing the necessary properties was assigned to each zodiac time frame in order to strengthen weaknesses and build on strengths supposedly possessed by persons born in that month or period of the zodiac. An article in The Gatson Gazette, March 22, 1990, made the following analysis: ‘The concept of birthstones assigns a specific crystal thought especially beneficial to each astrological sign chosen specifically to counteract or protect from weaknesses and to enhance strengths inherent in each house of zodiac.’”
