KFLCC / New Age Bible Versions - Gail Riplinger
A strong pull toward ultra-liberalism and Rome is very evident in this committee's book, The Textual Commentary on the Greek New Testament . It gives a behind the scenes view of their work while admitting, "B.F. Westcott and FJ.A. Hort's. . .edition. . .was taken as the basis for the present United Bible Societies edition." The charge that the new Greek text, and consequently the new versions, are Roman Catholic is confirmed by the church itself, for they have stopped using the Latin Vulgate as a basis of translation and now use the Martini, Metzger, Aland, Black, and Wikgren text. Now both Protestant and Catholic versions are based on the same Vaticanus minority Greek text. (Nestle's and Bible Societies' texts are now identical.) (CATHOLIC) "Greek text. . .of "The Greek Text "The text used the NIV. . .was used in this book is [was]. . .In basically that in the that of the. general, Nestle United Bible .Nestles. . .and Aland's [.. .and] Societies andForeign Bible United Bible Nestle's printed Society."27 Societies."28 Greek New Introduction Preface Testament."26 NASB Ralph Earle NIV Committee The Romanization of new versions is no accident. Pope John Paul II's first message to governments and heads of international organization, entitled "To Reach Peace, Teach Peace," dealt with, among other things, linguistics. In it he called for the eradication of words and concepts of language which caused "division." Catholic bibles with new version covers (NIV, NASB, et al) have served as tools when placed in Protestant hands to build bridges between denominations which a generation ago felt great division. NASB progenitor Phillip Schaff has hewn his tools for just such a job. NIV NASB NAB (PROTESTANT) (PROTESTANT)
The changes thus far. . .are in the right direction. . .and should contain the germs of a new theology. . .Every age must produce its own theology. . .such a theology will prepare the way for the reunion of Christendom .29
