Shortly thereafter Dad had a dream in which he saw both young men in very poor conditions, imprisoned in a North Korean prison camp. He saw Dale Smith standing deep in mud, holding onto a section of barbed wire. In the dream Smith spoke and said, “Brother Fred, please tell my mother that I am alive and being held as a prisoner in this camp. If she and the saints will pray, God is going to release us and bring us home safe.” Dad immediately contacted the mother, informing her that both soldiers were alive, but that prayer was needed to bring about their releases! Some of the older believers felt that Dad was giving the mother false hope and that the dream was a smoke screen for a vivid and hopeful imagination. Others received the word and began continual intercession for their release. Sixmonths later Dad returned home from preaching a revival. When he stepped off the bus, his eye caught the local newspaper with the headlines, “Two Men Exchanged in Panmunjom Prisoner Swap.” The writer reported that there had been a prisoner exchange between the United States and North Korea, and these two missing West Virginia men were being released as part of the exchange. Needless to say, there was, as old-timers used to say, a high time in Zion when the news spread throughout the church! This dream was a simple dream with a clear meaning. The men were missing but held in a camp. If the believers prayed,
