word of wisdom, word of knowledge, and discerning of spirits (1 Cor. 12:8, 10). Solomon was endowed with extreme wisdom and used amazing insight to solve complicated problems. The second mind gift—the word of knowledge—is called, by some, revelation knowledge , which is the ability to search deep into the Scriptures and pull out the dynamic types, shadows, patterns, and biblical mysteries that reveal the “deep things of God” (1 Cor. 2:10). The third mind gift—discerning of spirits— not only includes a gift to detect evil and unclean spirits, but it can also discern the spirit of a person and look into the real motives and hidden attitudes of the heart. These gifts are designed to assist believers when dealing with difficult situations, difficult people, and the powers of the enemy at work through people and circumstances. They are also effective when ministering to individuals who need a supernatural breakthrough. I NFORMATION IN THE S PIRIT W ORLD We come to the question, “Can Satan read my mind?” At times it must certainly feel that he can, especially when you are engaged in a conflict that is waging war against the mind. We do know that God can certainly know the thoughts of the heart. In Christ’s ministry we read where He “perceived” men had little faith (Matt. 16:8, KJV ), perceived the wickedness of men (Matt. 22:18), and perceived their thoughts (Mark 2:8; Luke 5:22).
