manipulate, intimidate, or dominate its victim, but also the same spirit will use deception to pull an innocent person into a web of mental confusion and false predictions that eventually lead to spiritual bondage, oppression, and depression. T HE R EAL VS. THE C OUNTERFEIT In the spiritual realm there is the real and the counterfeit . No one has ever seen a counterfeit three-dollar bill because the Treasury department has never printed a real three-dollar bill. I have asked bank tellers how they separate real money from counterfeit paper currency. The answer is always the same. The reply is, “We spend so much time handling real money that we can feel something is wrong when we come across a counterfeit bill.” In other words, something doesn’t feel right about the counterfeit! Some nominal church ministers occasionally attempt to frighten their members and warn them to stay far away from any and all supernatural manifestations, such as those seen in Full Gospel churches. The liberal theologians treat these manifestations as some form of an evil spirit deceiving fellow Christians. However, just as when there is something real, there will eventually be a copy; there can be no copy without the original! The apostle Paul revealed nine gifts of the Spirit (1 Cor. 12:7– 10).
