Satan has been effective in making some Christians deny the power of God. Paul warned that in the last days many would be “having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!” (2 Tim. 3:5). The Greek word power is the same word Christ used when He revealed that believers would receive power from the Holy Spirit. Over my many years of traveling I have heard some Christians deny that any of the nine gifts of the Spirit are active today, deny that a believer has authority over demonic powers, and deny the healing covenant of God through Christ to heal the sick today. If I were Satan, I would do all in my power to insure that as many Christians as possible denied the power and anointing of the Spirit. I would teach the congregation that it was a thing in the past and not a blessing in the present. Those believing this theory would have a “form of religion” but “deny the power.” Paul wrote that you should “turn away” from rejecters of God’s power!
