We receive bits and pieces of God’s will for our lives often like pieces of a puzzle that must fit together to form the picture. Paul said, “We see through a glass, darkly” (1 Cor. 13:12, KJV ). It is possible that God reveals His purpose—some call it your destiny —in bits and pieces because if He were to reveal the whole picture, you would be overwhelmed with the scene. You might be too afraid to flow in the path or so excited that you start running through stop signs and jumping roadblocks and end up missing His will due to your unrestrained zeal. When I was a teenage minister, the Holy Spirit revealed to me a seven point outreach plan that I began to print on the back of a small thirty-two page book I had printed. Part of the outreach included media outreaches, which began as radio and later developed into a prophetic video series, and in time became a weekly telecast aired around the world. As a young traveling evangelist at age eighteen or nineteen with an income ranging between six thousand to fifteen thousand dollars a year, if the Lord had told me that by age fifty-two my yearly television airtime budget would be close to four million dollars, I would have passed out and said, “What television airtime? I don’t own a camera, studio, or a VCR!” Yet today we have built two ministry facilities and are constructing a gathering place and a future youth camp. I have discovered that God will not overwhelm you with cares of life, so He reveals His will gradually. When you complete one assignment, He will inspire you toward a second assignment, and then another. He will not lead you past your last assignment.
