You have been a Christian for several years, and by using Scripture and practical daily experience, you have discovered how your archenemy thinks and works. On a particular day you walk into a restaurant alone for a quick lunch. The restaurant is packed, and you are seated at a table near the bar. Being a former alcoholic, you must mentally resist a slight churning in the pit of your stomach to order a drink. But because you are armed with the knowledge of the danger of the substance, the fiery dart (Eph. 6:16) entering your mind is immediately quenched by the knowledge of the danger and the fact that your desires have been changed! After sitting down, suddenly you look up, and a woman whom you haven’t seen in years walks up to you. Your heart skips a beat. Before your life with Christ, she was a woman you were living with, and you spent so much time partying that you can’t recall most events that occurred on those drunken weekends.
