There is also a difference between a Jewish covenant for the land of Israel, the city of Jerusalem, and the promised agricultural blessings on the land and a redemptive covenant that releases a person from his or her sins, imparting eternal life. That covenant was ratified through Christ and must be entered into by faith in the judicial mercy provided through Christ’s death and resurrection. If anyone follows the moral judicial-ethical principles and the wisdom proverbs of Solomon, these principles will work and affect their lives. When we understand the blessing found in a covenant relationship with God, why do some believers appear to walk in peace, joy, health, prosperity, and successful family relations, and others are . . . well . . . continually going from one mess to another? There are four common, simple explanations that can be given: The DNA With the increase in DNA testing and technology, some individuals believe their “bad luck in life” is somehow linked to a set of bad genes or some moral failure that was encoded in the DNA of a parent or grandparent. Therefore, their reasoning for continual failure is a “bad set of genes.” Some who are not familiar with the concept of redemption through Christ are unaware that they can receive a spiritual “blood transfusion” So Why Am I in a Mess and Not Being Blessed?
