A third sign signifying God’s favor was success when working with your hands, as indicated when the Hebrew captives who were returning from Babylon appealed to God to prosper them in rebuilding the holy temple: Then answered I them, and said unto them, The God of heaven, he will prosper us; therefore we his servants will arise and build. —Nehemiah 2:20, KJV God’s Word and His will reveal that believers are promised blessing and success through the works of their hands (Ps. 1:3). In ancient Israel, signs of God’s blessings included an abundant yearly harvest, fruitful trees, healthy animals, the winter and spring rains, and the birth of numerous children. Each year these visible benefits were witnessed by surrounding tribes and nations as an indication of the Hebrew God’s covenant of prosperity with His chosen people. And you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.
