68 Rebecca got the oil. Only after they had anointed the door knob and commanded the demons off of it could they open the door. Esther was bruised, but otherwise unhurt. In the very early morning, Joyce got up to go to the bathroom and stumbled on something soft in the living room on the way. "YUCK!" she exclaimed when she turned on the light. The house had been completely closed and locked up all night, but there, in the middle of the living room floor was a dead bird. Its wings were spread out, and feathers carefully placed below it in a pentagram. That was the end of their sleep for that night. The stench in the house grew worse. The girls washed down walls, scrubbed carpets, looked under furniture, tore apart beds, but still could not find the final doorways the demons were using to have such free access to the house. Taking showers became a real challenge as the demons would turn the shower head around and around, spraying the water on the walls and ceiling. The water would run hot and cold, hot and cold. They learned to shower with one hand on the shower head. Several days later, they were almost in despair. They had prayed intensely, asking the Holy Spirit to show them the things they were missing. Finally, Betty found the last problem. "Hey, look what I found!" she called from Esther’s bedroom. They all went in to see. The ceiling of all the rooms in the house were of textured white plaster. There in the plaster were tiny nails, driven into the ceiling in the shape of a pen tagram. They looked in the other bedrooms, and sure enough, there was a pentagram made in nails in the ceiling of each room. That was the final key. Once the nails were
