There was a pause, then Rebecca continued slowly. "ALL satanists like to show off and be in the lime-light. But then, what human being doesn’t? Naturally all of us would, and all of us would enjoy having power. Any one of us would use it to show off and make ourselves look big. I have no doubt of that. The desire to show off and look big is the very root of our sin nature. Satan had that problem too, and got him self kicked out of heaven for it. The demons cooperate with people to make them look powerful in front of others just to trap them into eternal destruction. But our God knows us through and through. That’s why Jesus set such an ex ample of humility for us. If we are going to serve Him, we MUST follow it. What terrible sins we would fall into if we were given the kind of power demons give to their servants! "When we become servants of Jesus, we quickly recognize the fact that we are NOTHING but sinners saved by grace! We have NO power of our own, neither do we control the power of our Master." Joyce spoke soberly, "It is a VERY big change for someone coming out of the craft. I was used to having the power to do what I wanted to do when I wanted to do it. Now, I am utterly dependent upon the Lord without any power at all of my own. Oh, I realize the demons were just cooperating with me, but I considered their power to be under MY con trol. As long as I obeyed them, that is. Now that Jesus is my Master instead of Satan, I am finding out what it is like to wait on somebody else’s will rather than doing what I want." "Yes," Rebecca said, "but unfortunately, sinful human na ture being what it is, far too many Christians try to develop ways to force God to perform when THEY want Him to. Just look at the number of so-called Christian leaders who gather together thousands of people to put on a show. If the Lord is really healing through them, why don’t they quietly
