280 Finally, after much prayer, I realized that she needed to con fess, as sin, the fact that she had almost completely given up her free will. Then ask the Lord to restore to her her free will. The struggle to make that confession and then pray that prayer was one of the most intense ones of her deliverance. But at last, Lyn won through and the victory was won. Once this was done, she was then able to address the demons that had come into her through these things and kick them out in the name of Jesus. Fortunately, Lyn retained enough control that she did not become a "multiple personality" as so many abused children do. I still have big questions in this whole area of multiple personalities. I firmly believe that a big percentage of the multiple personalities are simply demons that take over and control the person. But, I also wonder if an abdication of the free will does not allow the personality to fractionate. Will the confession of this as sin and a prayer asking the Lord to restore the free will be a key to "integrating" a per son? I freely admit that I do not have the complete under standing of this whole complex problem, or the solutions. But I do believe that the Holy Spirit will give Christian workers the guidance they need. Another difficult area was the control "Michael" exerted in her life. Once, a couple ofyears before, a therapist had tried to get Lyn to regress to about six years of age and then declare the tie between her and Michael to be severed. Lyn was not able to do so. As Lyn and I discussed the incident, I realized the folly of such an approach. A small child would not have the ability to stand against a strong adult, especial ly one that used physical abuse to punish them. Of course, Lyn couldn’t break such a bond. She needed the strength of Jesus Christ to do so, and she did not have that strength at the age of six! But, as an adult, she had the strength in Jesus Christ to sever the bond.
