Ron said that, as he began to relax his arms and hands and try to clear his mind of thoughts, he suddenly felt something take hold of his hands. Then he felt a charge of energy go down his arms into his stomach with such force that it knocked him over backwards. He felt like a ball of fire was in his stomach which spread up into his chest and he began to speak in tongues. He was overjoyed and went home thinking that he had been baptized by the Holy Spirit. Un fortunately, Ron had fulfilled the conditions to receive a demon by blanking his mind and giving up the control of his body. Shortly after the camp, someone gave Ron a book on how to hear the Lord speak to you. This book taught that a Chris tian must blank out his mind or clear his mind of all thoughts and wait quietly on the Lord so that the Holy Spirit can speak to them. This is, of course, completely in error, but Ron accepted it as truth because that is how he started speaking in tongues at the camp meeting. As Ron practiced, he learned to blank out his mind quickly and experienced many times of emotional ecstasy which he interpreted as ex periencing the presence of the Lord. Through these times of meditation, Ron obtained three spirit guides. What do you suppose they called themselves? "Father, Son and Holy Spirit” of course. What else would demon spirit guides call themselves to a Christian. Of course Ron did not realize that these were demon spirit guides. He thought he was hearing from the Lord. He had long conversations with the "lord" and received many directions from these spirits. However, Ron should have realized that he was not hear ing from the true Lord when the spirits began to lead him into sin. They told Ron that he was "special”and twisted and turned scripture to condone all sorts of sin that went direct ly against God’s commandments.
