203 her life and withdrew from an active lesbian life style as well. She was released early on good behavior. But, the parole board demanded that after her release she regularly attend the Gay A.A., and join the Metropolitan Community Church. The Metropolitan Community Church is not a Christian church, because they do not ac cept the complete word of God as it is written in the Bible. It is a church of all gay people. Because of her enforced association with gays, Susan quickly fell back into lesbian relationships and violent fights. It was with one of her partners that a turning point in her life came. One night, while quarreling with her partner, Susan saw a demon surface and manifest through the other girl. Because of her experience in witchcraft years before, she recognized the demon for what it was. That frightened her. She told her partner that she "needed help." They did not know where to turn for help with a demon, but a few days later saw an advertisement on TV for a Christian tent meeting being held in their area. Susan talked her partner into going to see if someone at the tent meeting could get rid of the demon. Both girls went to the tent meeting, but Susan’s partner freaked out and left within the first five minutes of the service. Susan stayed, interested to see what would hap pen as she had never been in a Christian service of any kind. She told me that the only thing that got through to her mind during that service was the statement the preacher made that "narrow is the way and few there be that find it." She did not know what this narrow way was, but she became determined to find out. After the service she went forward to stand in the prayer line hoping to have an opportunity to ask somebody about this "narrow way."
