> 1. Inheritance > 2. ANY involvement with the occult > 3. Sexual sins
I have written about many specific sins within these three areas in the preceding chapters. The first step is to sit down with a pen and paper in hand and carefully go through your life from birth to present. Ask the Holy Spirit to bring to your memory any sins you may have forgotten. Make a list of them on the paper. I have found that it is helpful to make the list of sins in chronological order —that is, start with birth, and list them as you committed them down through the years to the present time. If you are counseling someone, ask them to tell you about their life from their earliest memories on. Look for sins that fall into these three areas. Do not fall into the trap of mis taking symptoms for doorways. People will frequently come to the deliverance worker com plaining of such things as depression, anger, violent temper, etc. These are just symptoms. The underlying cause is the sin that allowed the demons to come into the person. ALL demons will cause depression, anger, rebellion, hatred, etc. Always look for the root cause. Next, BE METHODICAL. I find that one of the most com mon reasons for an incomplete deliverance is because people were not methodical. That is why everything must be written down on a piece of paper. If you do not write it down, the demons will confuse your mind and make you for get. It is not necessary for the deliverance worker to ask a per son to give them details, especially in the area of sexual sins.
