169 The mind altering drugs have been used all around the world in every culture by the wise men or shamans or witch doctors to gain contact with spirits. It is interesting that the hard-core Satanists of the Western world have no interest in taking such drugs as LSD. Why? Because they don’t trip on them. They see the spirit world most all the time anyway. They don’t need a drug such as LSD to enable them to do this. The "trips" taken on such drugs are nothing more or less than experiences in the spirit realm. Demons are masters of deceit. They have the ability in the spirit realm to "switch the sets" just the same as men do in the movie making industry. If you visit Universal Studios, where many of the movies are made here in America, you can walk down one street and be in the "Old West," turn the corner, and you are in 18th century England, turn another corner, and you are in a different time and country. Demons can do the same thing in the spirit world and create all sorts of illusions for the humans under their control. The Eastern religions center around gaining contact with the spirit world. To do this, they have developed forms of "meditation" which involve relaxation techniques to blank the mind. Scripture tells us that WE are responsible to con trol our minds at all times. (II Cor. 10:5) Once our minds are blank, the demons are free to take over and control them. Lastly, visualization and guided imagery is a very old tech nique for gaining contact with the spirit world. This one technique alone is responsible for thousands of Christians falling into the trap of using occultic techniques. (See "Prepare For War" Chapter 16). But, what are people actually doing when they gain contact with the spirit world? They are, in reality, gaining conscious control over their spirit.
