Within the spirit realm, there are only two masters, two sources of power —Jesus Christ or Satan. Satan's power is limited. The power of Jesus Christ is the absolute, unlimited power of Almighty God. The central purpose of ALL occultism is to achieve and maintain contact with the spirit world and the spirits there in. The occultist maintains this contact with the spirit world to gain POWER. Every human being on the face of this earth desires power. It is at the very root of our sin nature. Satan is only too happy to supply people with a false power to do what they want. He does this to keep them from turn ing to the one true God, Jesus Christ. Unfortunately, Chris tians, being human with sin natures, also desire power. Satan has brought massive deceptions into the Christian churches, making Christians think they are experiencing and using the power of God when, in some cases, they are actually using demonic power. If the Christian is going to stand firm in God’s word against this last great onslaught by Satan, he must have a good scriptural understanding of the human spirit and the spirit world. How is it that we, as physical creatures, are able to maintain contact with the nonphysical spirit realm? The answer is found in scripture. It is because God made us in His image. He created each one of us in three parts just as He is a Trinity. We have a physical body, a soul and a spirit. It is through the spirit part of us that we can experience the spirit realm. This is true for both Christians and non-Christians.
