157 I have had many people ask if I thought the destruction mentioned here meant loss of eternal salvation. I don’t have all the final answers, but, in my personal opinion, I do not think so. I think the physical body will be destroyed, but the spirit and soul will go on to be with the Lord. However, the believer will suffer loss of rewards in heaven. In the verses just prior to the above statement, Paul addresses this issue:

"Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is. If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss; but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire." I Corinthians 3:13-15

We hear very few sermons on these verses. People don’t like to think about suffering loss in heaven. We want to think that we will ALL receive the same reward no matter what we do down here on earth. This simply is not true. A person may not lose their salvation, but, if they permit defilement to continue in their life, they will not receive the rewards they would otherwise have received had they lived a life in complete obedience to the Lord. One of the main arguments used against Christians having demons is "what communion hath darkness with light?" Now, let’s look at that scripture in context:

"Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers; for what fellowship hath righteousness with un righteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God: as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them: and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
