Worshipping "the sun toward the east”is a form of Egyptian demon worship, because it is worship of the Egyptian sun god Osiris which, as previously stated, was the Egyptian name for Nimrod. Again, the purpose was to bring demons to be present with the people. So, demons were right in the inner court of the temple. II Chronicles 33:5, quoted earlier in this chapter, about Manasseh also clearly showed the presence of demons IN the temple of God, AND the presence of God had not yet left. Demons AND the presence of God were together in the same temple. I believe this is a picture of what can happen to us. It was not until after the Lord had showed all these abominations to Ezekiel that Ezekiel then saw the glory of the Lord lift out of the temple and leave.
