Chapter 8

THE SIN NATURE As I travel about the country and around the world, I find that Christians everywhere seem to lack a good under standing of what I call our "sin nature.”This spiritual war fare in which we are involved is very real, but, we must face up to our own responsibility before God. We cannot blame all of our sins on Satan or the demons. We are fully respon sible before God to control ourselves and stop sinning. I believe that when Adam fell into sin, all of his offspring inherited that fallen nature from him.

"Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned." Romans 5:12 "Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of the one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. For as by one man’s dis obedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one [Jesus] shall many be made righteous." Romans 5:18-19

Exactly what is this "sin nature?" It is the almost continual desire to sin that saturates every part of us. Andrew Murray describes it like this:
