before a major war or natural disaster. In ancient history, nations would not enter into battle after a comet was observed. One of the first comets to ever be named was discovered by Sir Edmund Halley. Named Halley's comet, it reappears approximately every 78 years. Researchers note that this comet appeared in 12 B.C. at the time Herod was extending the Temple platform in Jerusalem. It reappeared in A.D. 66, four years prior to the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple. In the twentieth century, the comet streaked through the heavens in 1910, just four years prior to the outbreak of World War 1. More recently, the comet was visible on earth in 1986, just four years before the conflict in the Persian Gulf. I believe these time frames are more than just a mere coincidence. It appears that God is giving a visible heavenly warning of what is coming each time this comet streaks through our galaxy, entering earth's view. The appearance of comets has been interpreted as an omen of future trouble. For example, on August 9, 1974, the comet Kohoutek was in our solar system. During that time, all nine leaders of the Common Market fell, and President Nixon departed from office. On the Hebrew calendar, August 9 was the 9 th of Av, the most dreaded and negative day of the year among the Hebrew people. Let me point out that neither the planets nor the stars are creating these negative effects on earth; this idea would be utter nonsense. But, this unique activity in the heavens appears to be a visible indicator, revealing prophetic seasons on earth.
