In John's vision in the Book of Revelation, he was told to measure the Temple but omit the outer court because it would be given to the Gentiles (Revelation 11:2). If a Jewish Temple were built to the north of the Dome, the outer court would be the place where the Dome is sitting. After examining this theory, I once took a group to the top of the Temple Mount, and we began to step off the size of the Holy Place from Christ's time. The guards watched us and suspected what we were doing; but before we were literally removed from the Mount, we concluded that several hundred feet exists from the north of the Dome to the outside Mosque wall.
