Arnold Schwarzenegger or anybody else. You don‘t have to have big muscles. You can weigh 110 pounds and still fulfill your purpose — no problem. God gave you the assignment of work. Now, I hear somebody saying, ―I‘m so mad at A dam. Be cause Adam sinned, now I have to go to work.‖ I have news for you: work was given to the man in Genesis 2, before the Fall. In other words, work is not a curse, my friend. Let me tell you the primary reason God gave you work. It is given in Genesis 2:2 – 3: By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. And God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done. God Himself worked when He created the world, and He still works to carry out His purposes. For example, Paul said in Philippians 2:13, “It is God who works in you to will and to place. In Genesis 2, the Bible says that God worked hard and completed His work, so that He stopped His work and rested. He didn‘t burn the midnight oil or work seven days a week just for the sake of working. He stopped working when it was appropriate. He told us to do the same. (See Exodus 20:9 – 10.) What is the significance of work? Work exposes your po tential. You cannot show what you have inside unless de mands are made on it, and demands are placed on it by work. God gave the male work because it is related to his purpose. His purpose is to stay in the presence of the Lord and learn to rule and manage what God has given him to do. In this way, he can eventually fulfill God‘s complete plan for him, which is to dominate the earth. Work exposes your potential. act according to his good purpose.” Be cause you are made in God‘s image and likeness, you are designed to work.
