spiritually harm himself and others by misusing the Word of God. For active ministers and spiritual leaders, there must be a way to expose the pitfalls before one falls into them. There are some interesting clues in one of Christ’s parables that can be practically applied to receiving freedom from the secret bondages. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. —MATTHEW 5:15–16 Take a completely dark room and light a single candle; the dark room will experience an orange glow of light. If a lit candle is placed under a basket, not only is the light diminished, but also it can eventually be extinguished if there is not enough air under the basket for the fire to absorb the oxygen in the atmosphere around it. There is a danger of hiding in the dark or getting comfortable living in a bushel of isolation and darkness. Any counselor will tell you that the very first act a person with any addiction must do is be willing to admit “I have this problem” and openly confess and seek out someone who can get him or her out of the dark, willing to admit that the problem is serious and must be confronted.
