Not only did the self-inflicted sword affect him and his ministry, but also many others lost all confidence in God and the Word because of the wound caused by the false idea that God was unable to preserve this man from falling. For the record, Paul wrote: And this is why I am suffering as I do. Still I am not ashamed, for I know (perceive, have knowledge of, and am acquainted with) Him Whom I have believed (adhered to and trusted in and relied on), and I am [positively] persuaded that He is able to guard and keep that which has been entrusted to me and which I have committed [to Him] until that day. —2 TIMOTHY 1:12, AMP Younger ministers and those freshly called must understand the pitfalls that come at a very early stage of ministry, as Satan puts out a threat assessment on you from the beginning and does not always wait until you are older and mature with a global ministry to make his move against you! All ministers, both male and female, should enter the ministry with a calling from God or a burden to change lives. Each minister must enter a season of preparation , which comes through mentoring, working in a local church, working under another ministry, or attending a Bible-based college or university. This season to prepare helps you to focus on the assignment, learn all you can about it, and sit under spiritual authority. Often, however, a
