His separation from battle forced him into a position of isolation. The danger of isolation is that it breeds loneliness, and this loneliness gives more time for the mind to wander and for your thoughts to roam aimlessly for hours or days, eventually creating seasons of oppression, depression, or tempting thoughts. All men were created in God’s image (Gen. 1:26), and His image is expressed to human beings through the love we have toward one another. We were created to experience the emotion of fulfillment through the relationships we make with those around us and with people who love us in return. When God created Adam in the Garden of Eden, He created and surrounded him with thousands of animals. It was God who said, “It is not good that man should be alone” (Gen. 2:18).
