temples are built to idol gods, there is always a massive operation and manifestation of demonic spirits, possessing the worshippers and bringing with them sickness, oppression, fear, and superstition. Any nation that worships man-made idols will be infested with all forms of evil, unclean, foul, and familiar spirits. There are certain religions such as voodoo, an ancient West African religious practice followed by millions in Africa and by many in the Caribbean Islands, such as Haiti, that involves demonic activity. The original name is vodou and means, “spirit.” Because Haiti is a poor nation, the blood of a chicken or birds is used to perform ritual curses and stir up the spirits, or it’s offered as a sacrifice to some strange god. The practice of voodoo came to Haiti during the 1700s when many Africans were being seized as slaves and were transported to Haiti and other Caribbean islands. In 1791 a powerful witch doctor named Boukman led a rebellion of a hundred of slaves who revolted against the French and vowed to die for liberty. On August 14, 1791, these slaves held a voodoo ceremony pledging allegiance to their voodoo spirits in return for liberty. This ceremony, known as the Bwa Kayiman ceremony, came to be known as the pact with the devil. According to many sources, this covenant with darkness is renewed yearly on August 14.
