confronts the circumstances and the spiritual powers of darkness and brings liberation to you and those around you. Prayer and worship must become a part of the believer’s armor and lifestyle, as these power twins of the Christian walk not only express our wishes and worship to God but also create the atmosphere of faith and power to break off chains and smash prison doors that have men and women bound. This body armor is designed to help a believer to stand firm and unmovable in the evil day (Eph. 6:13). Believe me, anyone who has served Christ for a long time will tell you there is an “evil day” planned for you. In the Greek there is a definite article before the word “day,” that expositors mark as a specific day, not just a day you are having where things don’t go right, but a day that is very evil, wicked, and full of temptation and trials. The question has been asked, “When Paul spoke of the armor of God, is this armor automatically a part of the believer’s daily life, or must we pray that we be covered by the armor of God?” I believe the best way to answer this question is to relate a story that was told to me by a dear pastor friend in Texas, who was close friends with the minister and his family to whom this astonishing event happened. Several years ago one of the outstanding spiritual leaders in the charismatic movement and in the body of Christ pastored a large, growing church in Texas. The pastor had several children, including a daughter who worked in the office and handled the mail and packages coming into the church.
