The body of Christ must maximize opportunities and the experiences of retired ministers along with strong men and women of God to train and teach the younger generation how to fight, endure, and overcome. Special hot baths and hot rooms were used by trainers to cause the wrestler to sweat. Hot baths and especially saunas are known to be good for removing impurities from the body. When we as believers are under a fiery trial of our faith, the intended outcome is to expose and burn out the internal spiritual bacteria and germs, killing them in us and removing any dangerous or spiritually unclean thing from our hearts. There were also special rooms where the trainer took the trainee and would use different types of oils on the wrestler’s body. These expensive oils made the body difficult to grip. As various types of grips and holds were used on the wrestler, his goal was to learn how to escape them, just as our goal is to escape from the snares and traps of the enemy. Oil in the Bible represents the anointing of the Holy Spirit. We must become so filled with the Spirit that we become slippery in the hands of our adversary. Satan had nothing to hold on to in the life of Jesus. Christ told His disciples: I will not talk with you much more, for the prince (evil genius, ruler) of the world is coming.
