Eventually she became connected with a well-respected youth ministry and worked diligently for years in any and all areas of the ministry where she was asked or needed the most. Years passed, and she was impressed to move to a city where a new ministry was being birthed. There she worked as a volunteer until a door opened for a job. She had spent many years working behind the scenes, serving, helping, and praying continually, often without pay, recognition, or reward. However, at some point her ministry of “helps” (1 Cor. 12:28) caught the Lord’s attention. She was in serious need of an automobile and began to seek God for His favor. Without her knowledge, the Lord impressed someone to buy her a vehicle, and not just an old beat-up model, but a very beautiful car. By helping others she had built up her favor account in heaven, and God released the interest back to her to withdraw from the heavenly principal in her account. DON’T GIVE UP WHEN THE FAVOR DRIES UP In the days of Elijah a famine was sweeping Israel. A national famine affects both the righteous and the unrighteous. God set up Elijah in a location where there was a brook of flowing water and sent ravens to feed him bread and meat, saying to Elijah, “I have commanded the ravens to feed you” (1 Kings 17:4). Eventually, however, the brook went dry and the birds didn’t fly (v. 7). The reason for the sudden drying up of the blessing was because a widow woman and her son were down to their
