bruises, and other wars are life-and-death strangleholds. It is one thing to have a crack in your faith or mind, but it’s another thing to leave your armor in the tent and walk out spiritually unprotected, thinking you are Superman or Superwoman and are invincible and beyond falling. THE UNPROTECTED MOMENT There are three primary ways in which spiritual warfare is manifested: • A sudden, unexpected unguarded moment, like a car that pulls out in front of you or runs a red light • A strong mental temptation or an event that stretches beyond your time of expectation for deliverance • A seasonal, repetitious strike of arrows from the adversary that has seasonal gaps of time but repeats itself On the East Coast, if we hear on the news that an F-4 tornado is within an hour from our town, we have time to prepare. If we are aware that hurricane season has arrived and storms are brewing in the Gulf, those living on the coast prepare for a possible strike and take precautions in advance, not waiting until the wind is tearing the house apart. However, someone else may live on the West Coast in a region that is prone to earthquakes. On three occasions while visiting California, I have experienced three small earthquakes— averaging between 4.5 and 5.2 in intensity. The residents in the
