an administrative, governmental, or executive capacity, or they can be officers. The latter term applies to the positions outlined in Ephesians 4:11 by the apostle Paul. Their names make them officers with agency authority and responsibilities. Being sent by the Lord Jesus certifies their service as a dispatch or a commission. For our purposes, this discussion centers on the latter definition, that being the officer of the fivefold offices. Official fits because occupying an office intrinsically makes one an officer. First Corinthians 12:28–29 settles this for us, as does an etymological study of the term and application of the word officer. The Agent as an Officer An officer can be an executive or director, a manager or a vice, a general or a chief. If you studied these words thoroughly, you would immediately see the prophet as an agent of the Godhead, and his or her service (or ministry) an agency of the kingdom of God. These conclusions are reached from the sum of the explanatives given earlier for the term agent. Prophets, along with the other Ephesians 4:11 officers, do in the spirit realm supernaturally for the Lord and His kingdom what diplomatic, civil, and political authorities do for their earthly organizations. Prophets administrate the heavenly treasures of the New Creation government. They officially handle the dispensations of the supernatural released by God to His church. Prophets furthermore exercise the Lord’s spiritual authority on earth to keep the balance of power between the darkness and light, the lie and the truth. They authorize and empower the church’s ministries and supply God’s heavenly provisions to His people by decreeing, declaring, and teaching what the Lord gives them to dispense to their spheres. As agencies of the Godhead, prophetic officers are licensed to maintain the Lord’s control and to communicate His divine approval and good fortune to the body of Christ; again, this is not unlike what earthly agents do for their agencies. They stabilize, advance, and enlarge the kingdom of God and manage official kingdom ventures on His behalf. Prophets execute their commission, charges, discharges, and duties as commanded by the Lord using primarily His word— spontaneous, written, and revealed. What makes this knowledge essential for the advancement of the prophetic is its realm of application. The prophetic agency is one of the many powers of the kingdom that establishes strongholds for the Lord Jesus Christ. The totality of
