The prophet's handbook

been greatly expedited by your hearing the entire command the first time. Perhaps you would have shaved three to six months off the search time and maybe been persuaded to obey in time to reap the reward of obedience the Lord had for you in the place you secretly despised before the window of opportunity closed. Prophets grasp God’s thoughts and intents more quickly than others do. They are attuned to His way of communicating because that is how He constructed them, and over the years their training conditioned them to think His thoughts His way and not according to their own. Grasping, processing, and acting in Christ’s mind comes more natural to prophets. That prophet’s spirit we spoke of connects to God’s consciousness and adapts to His communication style more readily than most. Let’s look at some of the differences between how the Lord thinks and speaks and how we do, and how to discern the distinct differences the prophet makes. Review the Quick Study Chart below for a deeper appreciation of the difference. Quick Study Chart God’s Thoughts through Prophets If you are in a school, class, or prophetic study group, spend time discussing the statements here and explaining how they are important to what the Lord needs from the prophets in general, and those He sets in the church. The prophet learns early that:

God thinks in whole thoughts. We think in fragments. God says what He means in one statement. We often find it difficult to digest His statements all at once. It takes, in comparison, strings of statements to make our point. For Him, it’s as fast as lightning. We understand the Lord and His style of communication bit by bit. God knows our thoughts and intents before the foundation of the world. God thinks and operates omni-creationally. We are primarily limited to His earthly wisdom. God approaches His handling of the earth from heaven down. We, on the other hand, process what He says and does from the earth up.
