Being enticed by metaphysical knowledge and psychic enlightenment, they drop their guard and are sucked into serving sin and death. What’s more, many of those drawn down the yellow brick road to see the Wizard of Oz are Christians, or at least they claim to be. Such saints, in love with the idea of spirituality, overlook the reality that not every spirit is of God. (See 1 John 4:1.) Poor discernment and still poorer Bible education make them unable to tell whether something spiritual is of Creator God or not. Jesus, however, gave us a clue, and it is that clue that prophets decipher for us, as seen in John 6:45: “It is written in the prophets, and they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.” Prophets decry the blurring of the lines separating godly and ungodly spiritualism. They reiterate Christ’s words in the above verse, reminding us today that it is still all about the Lord Jesus Christ. One thing occultists hate and shudder at is the name of Jesus.
