Opening the doors, hearts, and ears to their prophetic gifting is the main objective for these people. Prophesiers of this type use their prophetics to vocalize anyone’s real or imagined spiritual hurts or offenses, or they take up others’ causes just to generate outlets for their ministries. They contrive all sorts of prophetic antics to ingratiate themselves with people who appear influential enough to showcase their ministries. God’s involvement or affirmation of them, as with Balaam, on the other hand, is inconsequential. Errant prophesiers succumb to impulses of gift-driven prophesying and a gift defined prophetic ministry. Surrendering to purely charismatic prophecies makes such prophesiers strong candidates for delusion and divination, another danger of errant prophecy. In addition, it opens the way for rebel spirits to manufacture the materialization of words the Lord neither wrote nor authorized on a life. Even though they cannot halt the Lord’s will on a life in its time, they can interject a host of frustrations and hardships along the way. Unnecessary trials, setbacks, and delays can result as the false starts connected with the false word triggers them. All of these situations explain why servants of this critical medium of God’s communications should be strictly regulated, something the Lord has been doing progressively since He revived the prophetic more than two decades ago. God needs the prophetic. He relies on it because He has no alternative to it. Therefore, He must purge and protect the institution for His own sake.
