The prophet's handbook

anointing also gives them revelation into certain illnesses and their causes. Revelations, of course, come with wisdom to instruct the sufferer on how to treat the problem. This is not medical care or therapy, although health professionals can surely be among this prophetic class. It is God’s omniscience applied to the area of health in an effort to stay the onset of sickness and disease, because many illnesses have spiritual roots that can be treated by the inclusion of spiritual insight and prophetic astuteness. This ability works powerfully with all types of health care providers. When the prophet is not in the medical field, then it is through prayer and intercession that these work.
