Shamar prophets help protect the preaching, teaching, evangelism, worship, and intercession. They help identify and confront religious spirits, occult spirits, spirits of sin, pride, rebellion, and witchcraft. Shamar prophets are the spiritual immune system of a local church. They help fight off spiritual disease that is designed to affect the health of the church. Shamar prophets are needed for the overall health of the church. In addition to identifying these potential enemies, shamar prophets ought to seek God and develop strategies to resist, expel, and overcome them. These strategies can include prayer, fasting, worship, teaching, preaching, correcting, and expelling. In other words, prophets should do more than cry "Thus saith the Lord". They are a part of the covenant community and have a vested interest in the health of the flock. They are not outsiders looking in. They must love the church. They must experience the joy of victory and the grief of the enemies' attacks. Jeremiah wept for Israel because he was a part of Israel and suffered with Israel. Prophets
