(See Daniel 6:1–7; Revelation 12:10.) A ddictions There are both popular and professional definitions for the word addiction . When a layperson attempts to define what an addiction is, usually they will describe a person who is addicted to something that creates an unhealthy habit or a social disease. According to the American Heritage Dictionary , an addiction is a compulsive physical or psychological need for habit-forming substances, activities, or experiences. (See Luke 21:34; Romans 6:16.) An addiction is also characterized by a behavior performed in response to an obsession. Addictions can spin off into what is psychologically termed as obsessive-compulsive disorders (OCD). For ease of reference, I have listed addictions under two headings:
Substance: alcohol, heroin, tobacco, solvents, cocaine, crack, cannabis, caffeine, steroids, tranquilizers, hallucinogens, amphetamines, ecstasy, painkillers, barbiturates Social: overexercising, sex, sexual perversions, pornography, eating disorders (anorexia, bulimia, overeating), techno-addic tions (computer games, cyber sex), work, gambling, oniomania (compulsive shopping) A dultery

Adultery is a voluntary sexual relationship between a married person and a person other than their spouse. It is a form of betrayal that involves the breaking of a covenant and is an elaborately crafted weapon of mass destruc tion. This satanic tool is used to corrode the institutions of marriage and family and ultimately causes the very fabric of a just and moral society or nation to fray at its seams. The adulterer or adulteress betrays their marriage vow and lies in order to cover up their sin. The deceptive nature of adultery is that the individuals involved believe no one else is hurt by their activities. The feelings of betrayal, hurt, sadness, anger, and grief are caused not just because one of the partners engages in a sexual relationship with another,
