love of money. First Timothy 6:10 declares, “For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.” Throughout history we can trace many sinful, unholy, and ungodly activities and atrocities to this inordinate affection and idolatrous stronghold in the minds of men. Like the black widow spider that lures her prey to its demise into her web, this satanic economic system will lure any and every soul it can into a web designed for death and destruction. (See Ezekiel 27:2–26; Revelation 18:11–22.) 8. The kingdom of Satan is a kingdom of darkness. When we speak of the kingdom of darkness we speak of any territory or domain where there is an absence of God, divine revelation, purpose, and destiny. Spiritual blindness is another weapon of mass destruction. In short, this is an effective weapon because, even if truth is presented, the blinded cannot see unless there is divine intervention through salvation, healing, and deliverance. The Living Bible gives us the reason for this level of spiri tual blindness in 2 Corinthians 4:4: “Satan, who is the god of this evil world, has made him blind, unable to see the glorious light of the Gospel that is shining upon him or to understand the amazing message we preach about the glory of Christ, who is God.” (See also Genesis 1:2–4; Deuteronomy 28:29; Job 12:25; Isaiah 59:10.) 9. The kingdom of darkness is accessible to both spirit beings and human beings who either visit or make their abode there. Fallen angels dwell there. This kingdom of darkness is not far removed from us at all. As human beings, we can abandon the laws of God—the laws that would bring us the peace that surpasses all understanding—and live in the kingdom of darkness as well. In Revelation 18:1–4, the Bible speaks of Babylon. Babylon is to the kingdom of darkness as Washington DC is to the United States, or London is to England. Think of it as you would the capital of your country. 10. Like our own worship of the Lord our God, the kingdom of darkness also has a mode of worship. Just as your worship brings you into the presence of God, satanic worship will bring you into the presence of Satan. Remember, worship is not just an activity in a church or synagogue; it also is the lifestyle you choose to live on
