2. It was instituted by Satan and a host of fallen angels. The Bible tells how this kingdom of darkness was created. Having seduced approximately one-third of the angelic host, Satan proceeded to organize a foiled insurrection that subsequently led to their expulsion from heaven. What an event! Jesus describes it as a light show in the heavens (Luke 10:18; Rev. 12:3–13). 3. This satanic kingdom has a cosmological system. The word cosmology speaks of the dynamic arrangement of the universe and the world. God created the world in an orderly fashion. Satan has created a perverted imitation of it. By using such people as Cain and other rebel lious men as pawns, he has successfully constructed a world that in reality is nothing more than just a great magic show with illusions, smoke, and mirrors to fool the blinded eyes of man. Although illusory in nature, Satan has succeeded in creating a well-organized system of evil (Gen. 4:9–24). In this particular portion of Scripture, we see the terrestrial foundation of the kingdom of darkness taking shape and form through the creation of eight out of the twelve existing systems that comprise our world:

These systems, originally designed by God to provide the optimum envi ronment for mankind to fulfill its purpose and maximize potential, and to reach its destiny, have now become the strongholds of demonic forces. Today we can witness the effects of the presence of the enemy in this world. Govern ments are corrupt, approximately half of all marriages end in divorce, and families that once were safe havens for children are now plagued with abuse and domestic violence, leaving the educational institution wanting. Satan eroded and corroded the foundation and fiber of societies and institutions,
